Babyccinos was borne from the café adventures of a frustrated Mum, annoyed at not being able to quickly and easily find child friendly cafés and from accompanying a baby and toddler to cafés listed as ‘child friendly’ but left disappointed by the lack of age-appropriate child friendly features (including the common lack of healthy kids menu options). After complaining one night about this, problem-solving Dad came to the rescue with “you know, I could make a website for that”… and, so, babyccinos was created!
We found that previously created child friendly café review websites tend to be based on blogs (restricted by location and the time that the individual spends visiting child friendly cafés with their own children), being difficult to search but great for detailed reviews and quickly containing outdated information (one person maintaining a website can only do so much and the hospitality industry is incredibly fluid). Or simply using Google leads to cafés self-proclaimed or labelled by someone without children as ‘child friendly’ but not catering for your child’s specific requirements.
We have tried to avoid these short-falls by creating our website from scratch to be an entirely communal space. The best bit? Babyccinos is a community, it revolves around your café additions and reviews, not ours, and we’d like it to be as user-friendly as possible for you. So, we would love to hear from you if you have any feedback or suggestions, email us at [email protected].
Babyccinos has a few hidden features that will become apparent as more reviews are added and we have a few more surprises for both our community and our child friendly cafés as this journey continues.
Now, it’s over to you – mums, dads, grandparents, aunties, uncles, nannies and carers – share your café experiences with others in our babyccinos community and help us to build a resource that we can all benefit from!
May you finally relax to enjoy your café outings with your children.
